About us

5 bedroom semi-detached home with back garden in the outskirts of the village of Kilcullen in Co. Kildare. We are a very sporty family and are involved in the local GAA and athletics clubs. We love films and outdoor activities. We are members of Killashee gym and swim and gym regularly.John is a Sales Rep and Yvonne teaches English at a local Secondary School. They have twin girls who are in 6th year and another daughter who is in 2nd year. They also have an older son who lives away from home.

Celestine had a wonderful time early August 2022 with you and your family. After a hesitant start as her English was poor, she really had a wonderful stay. The attention brought to her needs and wishes, the kindness of your whole family contributed to the quality of her stay. The summer camp and all other activities you organised are still in her memories. We will not hesitate to send her again and reccomend it to anyone.

I, Paula, hereby recommend Yvonne Carey Tyrrell whom I have known for 6 years. When she was only 11 years old, I sent my daughter Gabriela to Yvonne's house for 2 weeks during the summer. Although she was still too young for me, I was encouraged because my nephews and nieces had been there in previous years and the experience had been wonderful. The experience was so positive that she repeated the following year in summer and when she was 13 years old we decided to send her for a school year. From the very first moment they welcomed my daughter as a member of their family. They are a lovely, loving, responsible and trustworthy family.

Yvonne's family is very welcoming and cares about the well-being of the person they have in their house. They are very athletic and encourage sports and health care and daily diet. The children are nice and friendly, my daughter was very confortable at home with her whole family.

Staying with the Tyrels was a wonderful time! They were so welcoming, and incredibly accommodating to the travel and baggage difficulties my fellow housemate and I experienced. They truly went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and settled; I never wanted for anything. Staying with them really enhanced my experience. I am so grateful for their hospitality and generosity, and cannot recommend them enough!
