Our home is a 2 storey bright and spacious detached house with a a large garden. It is situated on the outskirts of Cahersiveen town, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Valentia Island. It is a 4 bedroomed house and each room is ensuite. There is a kitchen/dining room downstairs with both a sitting room and library area up stairs. It is a 5-minute walk to the local supermarket and a 15-minute walk to the centre of the town. We are next door to the local secondary school, the Metrological Weather station and a Caravan/Camping park.We are a family of 3 as well as hosting an au pair. We love to travel, meet new people and learn about different cultures, food and music.Mary is a secondary school teacher of English/ History and a Guidance Counsellor. She loves reading, being outdoors, travel and cooking.Tommy works at a golf resort and loves all sports, especially Soccer, Horse Racing and Golf.Tríona is a fun loving and adventurous girl who loves to be active and playing outdoors. She really makes every student we host feel very welcome and they instantly become her new sister /brother. She has Coeliacs Disease so we can easily accommodate a Gluten Free diet if required.Many of our extended family live locally and in the Kerry area, so there is lots of engagement with the various generations within our family. As a family we love the outdoors - walking, visiting local historical and archaeological sites as well as going to the National Park, Killarney (1 hour drive) and Dingle (1.5 hour drive). Travel, learning about new cultures and trying recipes from different countries. We enjoy gardening, painting & decorating, reading and music. We like to spend time with family and friends at the beach, having picnics and BBQs.
