We live in a large 6 bedroom house on over an acre of garden.We are a family of 4... plus a host of pets, dogs, cats, guinea pigs, chickens and ducks. Our house is a little crazy at times especially with all the animals. We are all very different with different interests but that's what makes it exciting.We live 1.5km outside Thomastown, there is a regular train service to Kilkenny City which is 20 km away. Eabha is in the second year of university studying veterinary medicine and lives in Dublin during the week and comes home at the weekend. Lee will be 17 in July and in 5th year of secondary school, he has been entertaining our students for the past few years. He is very sociable and has formed great friendships with our past and current students. There is always lots of laughter. Our house is often the central meeting point for our student's friends and my own kid's friends. You could regularly find a large gang of teenagers playing uno over pizza.We have been hosting for more than 10 years and we are completely familiar with what it entails and have successfully managed the ups and downs of any issues that students may have.We are only taking bookings for the academic year 2024/2025. We already have a 14 year old Spanish girl coming to us for the full year in September 2024. She will attend the same school as Lee. We have an excellent relationship with the school and have provisionally booked a place in 3rd year and 5th year for students in September 2024 and January 2025.We can host up to 3 guests at a time, however we do not host students with the same first language this is to ensure that our students get the best from the experience. However in exceptional circumstances whereby two friends or siblings would like to come and stay at the same time, we can accommodate this. We do encourage them to speak English at all times.
