We live in a town almost in the middle of Ireland about 1 hour 10 minutes from Dublin City and Airport . It’s a terraced house in the middle of the town so very centrally located. We have 3 bedrooms, student will have their own room with wardrobe, desk with chair and a chest of drawers.We are a fun loving family and enjoy spending lots of time together. We love board game nights and going for picnics or the beach during the nice weather. We also love going on walks in our nearby forest. We always love to make memories together. We love movie nights with a takeaway sometimes. We joke and laugh around a lot.We have hosted students for over 20 years and love teaching them about our history, culture and our country.We love entertaining and barbecuing in the garden when the Irish weather allows us to.Fiona is a childminder currently minding one little boy in our home. John is medically retired from the civil service, James is in his first year in university studying software design in gaming and virtual reality.Picnics, bowling, swimming, board games, cooking to name but a few.

Just arrived home, miss you already :( This month has been great, i’ve had a great experience and it’s been great pleasure having you as my host family I miss those movie nights, all the talks, car rides, meals together and you three. It makes me kinda sad going back to my routine here, Ireland was great

Hello my name is Susanna, I am 16 years old ,and I’m from Germany. The Lloyd family welcomed me and my Italien host sister, who I share my room with, on the 15th of January 2023 for 5 month into their home. I came to Ireland to improve my English and to experience the culture. I can assure you that you will improve in speaking English and experience the Irish culture especially with your very Irish host dad who loves to make jokes at the dinner table and make everyone laugh. The host mom, is a kind and heartwarming person, she is a great listener and cook. During dinner we all sit together at the table and talk about our days and all kind of things. During the Easter break, we went up to Donegal and explored the area and lernt more about the Irish culture then we could have ever wished. Thanks to all the family my experience here in Ireland has been great the last few month.

My name is Martina, I'm eighteen and I'm an exchange student fromItaly.On the 15th of January I arrived in Dublinwhere my adventure started.I'm in ireland since 3 month and I'm going home in 6 weeks.Lloyd's family welcomed me and another exchange student from Germany in theirhome.One of the main reason why we choose tobe in a family in our period abroad is toimmerce our self in the culture.I'm sure 100% you're going to feel and livethe real irish life with this family.You are going to try traditional dishes,explore the country in all its particularities and live a real Irish life.They will make you feel part of the familyand put you at ease.John, your host dad, is going to teach youwhat it really is Irish sarcasm.He's also a sport fun and you will enjoy totalk to him.Fiona, your host mum, is going to be yoursecond mum.You can talk to her about everything, shewill make sure you don’t miss anything.They like to watch movies in the eveningand to have dinner all together.During Easter holidays they brought us inthe north of Ireland, Donegal, for 5 days andwe explored the area with them.It was one of the best part of myexperience.Irish people are really friendly and loving,you are going to feel it in this family.
